Shuddh Desi Romance -movie review!

Young and free.  Young, free and confused with a capital ‘C’ (woah, that doesn’t sound right!) .Well, the first look at the trailers instigated hopes for a peppy youthful romance. The movie likewise attempts to fight the case for live-in relationships or may i say against arranged marriages akin to Satygraha and it’s never ending ‘walks’. Nah, I’m kidding, the movie is a polar opposite.

The first half is as light as a balloon, hilarious and full of kisses (a growing change in Hindi cinema), the second half lags a little as the humour wears off a bit. Cinematography by Manu Anand is both beautiful and real, the story by Jaideep Sahni rough round the edges .The background music by Sachin-Jigar is flavoursome and sharp but the songs are just okay with Gulabi as an exception.

The cast is pretty amazing. The three actors look and act good .They carry the film effortlessly. Rishi Kapoor is brilliant and super funny; Sushant Singh Rajput looks the character of a tourist guide and has a small town charm about him, Parineeti Chopra is wonderful and Vaani Kapoor is also amazing for a debutant.
You might get some remembrance of Maneesh Sharma’s first movie Band Baaja Baraat with the zing and quirkiness of the dialogues and the treatment of characters as representing the 'bhagte' (forever running) youth.

Watch this one for-

1. Some hilarious moments     2.Rishi Kapoor   3.To get some entertainment
