AUTOGIRI
In the city lights, the transport system is making the
public crazy. Dadagiri is the thing of the past, Autogiri is the present and
what seems likely the the thing of the future.
Now before you even start blaming the cng prices for the
status quo, let me tell you, the auto-wallahs aren’t the good guys either. The
autogiri in noida is thriving so badly that before going out, you will be guaranteed
to do numerous price quote calculations in your head and more often anticipate
sadly the bicker that is about to happen.
Why do i say all this? It’s because for barely a kilometre
in noida you are demanded to pay no less than 50, many ridiculously demanding
as high as 70! The main problem i believe is not the fare but the irrational
amount they ask for. I say assign a metre, they say it doesn’t cover the
expenses vis-a vis the cng prices, i say employ the economists around the
country to fix a win-win tariff.
The consumers, i am sure, don’t mind the rightful fare but
they sure as hell mind the unexplained, unstandardised fare demanded out of
their pockets
Combine this with the growing phenomenon of the destination
fight off. I seriously believe that getting into the auto and then telling the
auto wallah-the destination exists only in movies! Autos being public transport
are meant for their convenience instead the public is stranded on the roads
trying to find an auto who would take you to your place of interest.
Every type of ‘giri’ comes with a connotation that a group
is associated with it. And autogiri is no less. It gives a new definition to
the word ‘unions’. Where unions are supposed to fight for the collective
interest and welfare of the group they seem to be a group of hooligans
troubling the public. The autowallahs first come up to the public like flies to
cow dung and then don’t shy away from using violence against a non-union auto
wallah when he cracks a favourable deal with the public.
CMs are blind to this monstrous harassment to the public on
daily basis. They are apparently busy building parks, more recently sanctioning
cars worth 20 lacks to the MLAs or wait taking back their statement seems to be
the new thing.
Is anyone listening to the common man!
u were up at 4:30am.....:)right portrayal of autowallahs who r many a time no less than a gundas.
