Tanu weds Manu Returns -Movie Review

Very rarely,  does a sequel picks up the story right from where it ends in the first movie. And rarely is the sequel worth the excitement but Tanu weds Manu returns, truly returns with a bang using the same fun characters but with extra fun.

As Tanu quips in the trailers, in response to her bewafai , manu has gone badchalan. Mad trouble in paradise has led him on the brink of separation and just when he thought all could be fine , he comes across a doppelganger of Tanu , a college going athelete Kusum and can’t help but fall in love with her, see she was right he did go a little badchalan :P

The story does seem a little crazy with a character like Manu falling in love whilst married , but this can be forgiven given that the movie aims to a be a cheerful comedy. However as much as I hate to find mistakes, the second half features a tiny sub plot which seems a little out of place. If you remember the first movie for its combination of madness and beautiful emotions, this one , I say will be remembered for its comic quotient hands down! In fact I believe the numerous songs in the second half was just to tone down the comedy for emotion to come in and bring the story to its home. The story also tries to shed a light on some social issues amidst its crazy story, but all of this is fine , for whenever the story dips even for a second, Pappi (Manu’s friend) comes to the brilliant rescue, leaving you laugh at the edge of your seats. Dialogue writer Himanshu Sharma , must be given a huge samosa party for writing incredibly witty and hella funny lines! :D

Coming to the acting department Kangana Ranaut comes with double the force with her double role. She is flawless in her portrayal of different characters Tanu and Kusum. She not only continues the diva magic with Tanu but is an absolutely spot on Hariyanvi chori-Kusum.She is so good with her accent that you might miss a couple of lines by her! R Madhavan does a good job as well in his simple role. Jimmy Shergill ,Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Swara Bhaskar are fantastic support cast true to their character. But the hero for me is Deepak Dobriyal (Pappi). He is the star and his acting as a chela and friend of Manu is just priceless!

Music by Krsna solo and Tanishk-Vayu goes with the movie pretty well .Ghani Bawri and Banno are the numbers that stand out!
You should not miss this one!

Watch it for-

1. Kangana Ranaut –the actress  2. Sheer entertainment and 3. Papppppppiiiii.
