Welcome Back Review!

Anil Kapoor did advise us to leave our minds at home, while going for the movie. But what he didn’t tell us was how bad this movie was giving competition to Sajid Khan’s Humshakals.

Welcome back brings back Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar) and Majnu(Anil Kapoor) as gangsters trying to live a reformed life and dying to get married. Soon they find about the ‘existence’ of another sister (Shruti Hassan) who is love with Indian gangster Ajju (John Abraham), an illegitimate son of Dr. Ghungru’s wife. The story revolves around the brothers getting conned and saving their sister from another gangster et all.

The movie is filled with common clichés like the heroine in a glammed up avatar speaking sentimental bhaiya-rakhi lines and PJs such as “iss ganje ko dekhne ke baad to iski biwi ko chand dekhne k zaroorat nai padegi” .Yes, you have old men falling for overtly young girls, love story beginning with kisses, numerous item numbers, lavish foreign locations and Eagle eye shots arsing thereof. I would have let go of the storyline and stopped estimating the kind of money Nadiadwala has, had the movie not showcased its climax scene.

The logic sans final scene has helicopters, expensive suvs , bomb loaded mini toy size helicopters , sky diving shooters ,camel stampede which is dealt with by the hero (Ajju) and forgotten for full five minutes after which the camels decide to make a comeback! DAFAQ!

You thought this guy was rich …

The only scene in this Anees Bazmee directorial ,which might crack you up is a graveyard scene which has some really good comic performances by Nana patekar, Anil Kapoor, John Abraham and Paresh Rawal breaking into an antakshari session.

The movie has a huge line up of actors. Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar do their thing and are descent, although with the bad script even they lose it at times. John Abraham looks smashing even as a tapori and does a good enough job. Shruti Hassan and new girl Sakshi Maggo are extremely average. Paresh Rawal has a small role and is nice at it. Dimple Kapadia and Naseeruddin Shah, although I don’t understand why they are a part of this film, are good . And oh yes, we also have Shiney Ahuja, who barely does anything other than shouting.

Music is again not at all good with tutti bole as the only bearable song. But a huge shout out to the lyricist for teaching us a new word on teacher’s day!
Tell me what do you call snake in hindi?
Saanp?
Good!, now what would you call the female saanp? But ofcourse ,Sapni!

WHAT IS GOING ON?! :P :D
Watch this -
        1. For the grave yard scene
  2.  And if you thought Suniel Shetty’s tanker in Jai ho was the most funnily illogical thing ever, then you will find a new and true competition from the climax of Welcome Back!
