PK movie review!

PK. Aamir. Hirani. Confuzia-gaye-kya? These three magical words were enough to attract the audience to the theatres but Aamir’s ‘almost’ nude stunt was not to be missed :P . The cardinal combination of the actor-director which broke the theatres across the nation with 3 idiots was only bound to create such curiosity.

Remember thinking out of the box? For our aam-aadmi troubles, Hirani and writer Abhijat brought the other worldly perspective quite literally. The movie features Jagat Janini aka ‘Jaggu’(Anushka Sharma) a journalist covering the interesting story of this hell of a man ‘PK’ (Aamir Khan) ,who innocently questions our seemingly normal traditions.

The movie stands tall with incredible performance by mister perfectionist. Aamir is on spot and extremely cute with his Bhojpuri accent. Anushka Sharma portrays her character wonderfully and  Sanjay Dutt , Boman Irani , Saurabh Shukla and Sushant Singh as supporting characters are as usual good too.

BUT, Pk fails too surpass the aura that Munna Bhai or 3 idiots created. The story though deals with the main issue in a comprehensive yet funny manner, what brings the awesome first half down a notch is the ‘filmy’ quotient especially the climax sequence where the sentimentality makes you utter a “meh” inside.

The soundtrack on the whole is decent which ‘Chaar kadam’ and ‘Tharki chokro’ standing out.

Dhoom 3 movie review!

Despite the complains that the movie is a pathetic attempt at pulling off a Mission Impossible or a fast and the Furious, despite the spoof trailer by All India Backchod that never made it, despite the criticism that Katrina’s Dhoom Machale does not rock as much as Hrithik’s masterpiece did, Dhoom 3 was definitely one awaited movie with the perfectionist donning the villain’s mask.

But Aamir 3 (that should be the movie’s name) was just meh! The story involves a clown Sahir (Aamir Khan) robbing the bank in the US and Jai Dixit(Abhishek Bachchan) being called from Mumbai with his aid Ali (Uday Chopra) to grab the thief. But even this simple plot is made complex and centered only on Mr.Khan, Ali and Jai do come on screen only for a supporting role.  Katrina Kaif as Alia another circus artist is present for an even less space with no significance what so ever.

The story did have a potential up until the intermission with a good twist but the twist develops in a messy knot with the screenplay being a surprise, no really, one actually really wonders what n why anything is happening!

The stunts were good but irrational and most definitely inspired. Why does the bike never speed up?!The acting by the trio is good and the movie has some light moments.

Music is pretty decent and the choreography absolutely fabulous, the effort put in is simply amazing.

Dhoom 3 is a let-down compared to the previous installments.
